HOW?
National Awards are calculated using a variation of the standard Player Efficiency Rating.
However, adjusted to place the same emphasis, if not, greater emphasis on defense.
For example, given 2 players averaging around the same amount of points, the player averaging more steals and/or blocks and/or rebounds
stands a far better chance of winning a given award.
WHO?
Awards are calculated based on the skill level of the division.
A division can be designated as Amateur, Pro or All Star.
Awards are calculated based on all teams/players in a certain skill level for the given quarter. (See below)
WHEN?
National Awards are calculated quarterly, at the end of the quarter.
- Quarter 1: January through March
- Quarter 2: April through June
- Quarter 3: July through September
- Quarter 4: October through December
National MVP and Defensive MVP are selected 7 days after the end of the quarter.
National All-HoopFigures and All-Defensive teams are selected 10 days after the end of the quarter.
NOTE: While certainly not required,
it is good practice to schedule seasons within a given quarter,
for the purposes of quarterly National Awards and quarterly rankings.
